Plus, they can sell healthy meals to the public through FTC’s Maker’s Market as a new revenue stream. ![]() The FTC is also hosting Wellness Eats, a food program by the cancer support organization Cape Wellness Collaborative. “Wellness Eats didn’t have a permanent home, so we brought them under our roof,” says Wheeler. To help combat this, FTC meals feature healthy proteins and fresh produce, and Wheeler says she is “committed to spice.” She is also planning a pilot program to teach how to make meals from ingredients typically available at food pantries. “A person constantly hungry and driven by economic strife ends up getting high-fat, high-salt, highly processed food that does not allow the body to function as it should.” “Not all food is created equally,” she says. Wheeler stresses that local need remains strong, and their team focuses on nutritional security, as the low-cost foods that struggling community members can afford often lack complex nutrients. FTC’s first two years were a success thanks to local foundations, a financial arrangement with the Riverway owners, in-kind donations from Cape Cod food producers, incredible volunteer efforts, and the enormous passion of Wheeler and Henry. “We were helped by the Cape Codder Resort, Guaranteed Fresh Produce, and Camp Wingate Kirkland before we moved into Riverway,” says Wheeler. The pair reached out to the American Culinary Federation, which had been receiving calls from restaurants about potential donations, and the food delivery collaboration took flight.Īlmost immediately FTC found generous support within the restaurant and food industry. “I had been cooking for him under an Urban Agenda grant, and we both saw that food security would be an issue with COVID-19,” she says. Wheeler, who has experience operating soup kitchens as well as running her own gourmet prepared food services company, met Henry as part of the Cape Cod Culinary Incubator, where he served as board president. ![]() “We are creating something that will help all of Cape Cod, and it really is a community-wide effort.” We’re working towards creating a self-sustaining nonprofit,” says Wheeler. Proceeds from these public-facing endeavors support FTC’s meal distribution program for needy Cape Codders. In addition, the building boasts workforce housing and a community garden. The reborn property, renovated by volunteers, is now The Commons at Riverway and operates as a café, tavern, and local Maker’s Market.īut that’s not all-FTC also rents its commercial kitchen to food makers and entrepreneurs and offers space for community functions, fundraising dinners, and wine and spirit pairings. Since that time, their new nonprofit has not only prepared and directly distributed more than 90,000 meals, soups, and other food items within the Cape community, it has also found a permanent home at the former Riverway Lobster House restaurant in Yarmouth. They were tears of joy, but the experience was so emotionally overwhelming,” Wheeler adds. “I think for the first six months I would cry every day as we were doing distributions. For the two culinarily connected friends, it was an important and immediate response to an urgent need at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. We kept hearing that it was the only home-cooked meal they were getting every week,” says Jeni Wheeler of the Cape Cod families and seniors she and her Family Table Collaborative (FTC) co-founder Harry Henry began feeding in March 2020.

![]() If you want a new game key just click on the “ Get It Free” button above and follow the simple instructions. It's okay, but it's not a game changing expansion, it's not deep, it doesn't add much that we haven't seen before and your main motivation for buying it is mostly to like, have certain features officially built in and to avoid wonkiness and compatibility issues with mods from users who assume you'll have the dlc.List of legit free Steam keys for our users. If you run Combat Extended they are an insufferable never ending agony to deal with also. They are meant to force you out of your base and be these mini challenges, though mostly they will screw you over completely all the way until the late game. Unsure of mechanoid clusters were added to base game with 1.1 or if they are a dlc feature, but they are these cancerous random lil clusters of mechanoids that randomly plop down on your map, complete with a few buildings, turrets, etc. The rewards and challenge of the quests scale horrendously, and once your colony starts getting somewhat wealthy its not entirely unusual to get rewards of 1500+ uranium, gold, etc for ludicrious back to back spawns of 50+ enemies. The quests themselves are usually very limited in scope, usually stuff like, "build this expensive blueprint", "let X people live in your base for Y days" or "accept this quest to trigger X bad event for reward". ![]() You can quest for the faction they added to gain titles for colonists, but these aren't exactly game changing and you can basically ignore quests completely if you want. You can choose to be hostile to them early on if you want. They start as neutral to you, and you can call on them to reinforce once they become friendly. The faction will generally come equipped with late game tech, so power armor, charge weapons, etc. Psionics are gimmick you can get and that have seriously dubious and limited use, but these were also kind of a thing already. A more fleshed out quests tab thats an improvement over the quests tab mod. It effectively adds features from more popular mods prior to 1.1.Ī high tier faction with some gear ala Glittertech, guests from the guests mod, some new furniture not unlike what you could get already. I have no idea if it was supposed to be DLC exclusive or if it was meant to be in the base game, or if it still is in the base game. ![]() The other thing that might show up is the new pikeman mech, which was added with the free 1.1 update, but was also mentioned in the description for the DLC. I am not sure if that was removed from vanilla or not, but it doesn't really matter because it doesn't affect anything without the DLC. There are only 2 things from the DLC that might show up in vanilla, with one of them being the psychic entropy rate, which I say because that was a stat that showed up if you clicked on pawn's info tab when 1.1 originally dropped(before the DLC was announced). For a while in the base game, there have been psychic waves that affect colonists' moods, and there have been psychic artifacts that can be used to drive people mad and such, but nothing really on the scale of the DLC(and they have been in the base game since before the game left early access). I'm about 90% sure that none of the actual psychic stuff is in the base game. Ideology gives you the ability to really customize your colony. Song placement and song licensing actually seems to be a staple for independent musicians these days. listening to the record, and he heard “Boomerang,” and suddenly he was like, “The season has to end with ‘Boomerang.’ That’s the way it has to end.” He went back and re-edited it so that the song would fit. Then, I guess it was the night before they were finishing the edit, he said he was driving home at 3:00 a.m. It wasn’t at all like, “Put this in the show.” The show was pretty much finished and done, and it was not with that intention at all we just gave it to him because he’s our friend and we wanted him to hear it. They were about to wrap Arrested Development and we gave him my CD, because I had just printed some copies of it. Lucy: Mitchell Hurwitz, who’s the creator of the show, is a good family friend. MIMO: Is there a story behind how all that happened for you? MIMO: It’s interesting that you brought up your father, because I noticed that he is a composer and he did the scoring for Arrested Development, and your song “Boomerang” is on the new season. I do enjoy being in the studio those are my favorite parts, creating the songs and then bringing it to the studio. when it’s family, you can be very honest and there’s no fear. Do you particularly enjoy working in the studio? Would you say that you’re a hands-on person in the studio, or do you tend to leave a lot to the producer to handle? MIMO: There are some pretty creative arrangements on the record. It wasn’t even my favorite movie, I just felt there was something inspiring about this iconic figure, and then seeing who she is as a real person and her loneliness. I was playing around with that melody, and then I watched the movie Marie Antoinette. ![]() My friend had actually lent me a tenor guitar, which is a 4-string guitar. Lucy: It’s hard to pick a favorite because they are all like your musical children…I really love “Marie Antoinette.” There’s something very magical about that one. MIMO: Do you have a favorite tune on the new record? If so, why? What makes it your favorite? I worked with this really great director who takes photographs and makes a collage so that it feels like you’re in a large 3D space, but actually, it’s this collaged space, which is really cool. With Timekeeper, I thought it would be a great idea to introduce the record in this fantastical way, and I came up with this story and I wrote it. I hope to make a video for every single song. The idea is to really create this landscape of fantasy. MIMO: Is that part of the inspiration for the trailer, as well? I would even give the mixer pictures to show like, “This is what the song looks like to me.” This is the first time where I was connecting visuals to music in that way. That’s very much like when I was in the studio, I was always thinking of imagery. I feel like you can listen to it and be inspired, think of ideas, and think of images. To me, this is the most visually evoking record. Lucy: I think it’s very different from the earlier work, partly just because as you grow as a person you want to write about different things and you have a different point of view. What stands out to you most about this record, and what do you think sets it apart from your earlier work? MIMO: Let’s talk about the new album Timekeeper. Lucy Schwartz was kind enough to spend a few minutes with MIMO talking about the new album, and also affording us some insight into the opportunities that have come her way. This week, Schwartz releases her third full-length studio release Timekeeper, an eclectic and highly creative blend of sound and lyric with plenty of great hooks to boot. She’s also co-written with the likes of Landon Pigg and Aqualung, toured with Lilith Fair, and even covered a Carpenters song on the television show House of Lies. At age 23, she’s already had dozens of song placements in film and television (most recently her song “Boomerang” on the Season 4 finale of Arrested Development, now available on Netflix). For being a young indie artist, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Lucy Schwartz has certainly made the rounds.
